Thomas Piketty was hassled by host Joe, I can’t think of his last name, on CNBC this morning. It’s one thing to ask a question but generally it shows good manners to allow the guest to answer before stepping on his reply. Even if you don’t like the response.
It was immensely funny to watch; the Joe fellow came off looking like a complete tool and dullard. Does he care? Doubtful; and I suppose that’s why he gets paid the big bucks. If you’re incapable of original thought, the next best thing, is to let someone pay you to spout their ‘ideas.’ They were speaking about income inequality. And from that, it became apparent that there was also a serious deficit in intellectual equality.
I’m not saying that Piketty’s input or output is right. I haven’t had the chance to read his book yet. But he is entitled to express his opinions. I guess it’s called ‘objectivity’…
Bravo, Piketty.
