Junket. 25 Jan 2014.

A friend of mine is in Vietnam Nam on a photo junket. She was cool enough to loan me a couple Zeiss Prime cine lenses again. She’s a great photographer and her perspective is unreal. She always says: ‘Could you imagine copying photos made by someone that’s really crap, like Avedon? Those photos remind me of a strange, zero sector minimalism, which I really don’t think is descriptive of anything in the modern world. Now or 100 years ago. It’s like narration — it’s just sloppy, flaccid work.’

I love a good rumble, but I can’t take the other side of her argument.

It’s a little sad, though.
