Three guys seeking the Wizard: One can’t read. One can’t write. The last one needs a brain (and can’t read or write). It’s like Charlie Kaufman said: “It’s weird to be human. You get to think abt stuff.” And to make the story setup more intriguing — they’re all way past their prime(s) in life. It’s like they’re playing with: “what the definition of is, is…” Something heavy.
I was on a finance conference call yesterday. One of the guys was in Switzerland and the discussion turned to Amazon. And what it does and the difficulty in figuring out their ‘black box’ strategy. Someone mentioned that the idea for Facebook existed in Korea, 10 years before Facebook. Let’s hear it for Mark Zuckerberger. He attended Harvard. I knew a girl that everyone thought was smart. But in the final analysis was: she wasnt smart; just devious. You really have to be able to differentiate between the two.
