DVD’s are dead and word-of-mouth has killed it. You can mess around with perception:mapping… but in the end… what is it they say? ‘The TRUTH shall set you free but only after it’s finished with you?’ I remember someone telling me it wasn’t a western. Really? Do they wear big hats and ride horses? Then it’s a western. When people try to ‘reposition’ a film — it’s doubly insulting to the audience. If it quacks like a dust film; then it’s a dust film. Everyone should leave the idea of revisionist westerns to Mr Eastwood. He brought that genre to life in the 1960 spaghetti westerns. Evidently, something was greatly miscalculated in the writing, directing and/or editing in The Homesman. The Shit-Out-Of-Lucksman?
