I love the way this film opens up. From the soundtrack that moves from Gimme Shelter into Spanish classical mode and back into Gimme Shelter is massively effective in setting the tone for the picture. The introduction of the characters is flawless. The dialogue is great — it’s inclusion of Joyce and everything thereafter works beautifully. The next thing you know — you’re on page 22.
