I was trying to think of a song that might play through some EU scenes. I remember telling Pete Searson at Tellson Jeans that I remembered The Clash making the audience wait an hour before they came on. It was, maybe, a few seconds after beer bottles started flying. They came on and what I remembered was the spit that you could see flying out of Strummer’s mouth as he sang. Pete told me that they’d wanted to see The Clash and saved up to buy tickets. On the way there; they started drinking. He said they passed out behind the venue to wake up as The Clash was finishing the last song in their set.
