Donald Judd is another artist that I’d place in the Mark Rothko bucket. Like Glen Gould, the Bach specialist said: it’s minimalism. Who cares? The best way to frame this is by asking a simple question: “Have you ever met any artist that said: I want to be an artist just like Mark Rothko or Donald Judd?”
I can honestly say I’ve never heard that in my lifetime.
They don’t exist.
It’s a myth that someone created. What a waste of resources the uninformed make.
