(There are many). But the most obvious is legendary jazz great Paul Motian.
Paul Motian had an octet that played at the Vanguard with Bill McHenry and Steve Cardenas. Not to mention Ben Monder.
Bill McHenry sound-tracked the documentary film that I’m currently working on.
The guitar in the photos?
That’s Steve Cardenas’ guitar. Who played with The Paul Motian Octet. And also played with Bill McHenry. (And also Ben Monder). The connection to the guitar is even odder. But like they say in screenplays — ‘always keep secrets.’ (And guitars).
