This screenplay rewriting is tricky. It seems a lot like three dimensional tic-tac-toe. I published a game of tic-tac that was played internationally here. One player was in Sydney and the other in Texas. I’m going way off book — if people aren’t interested in the first five minutes of your script — you have problems moving forward and keeping them invested. By page twenty, you’ve set the tone and introduced most of the characters in the film.
