Dogsville-on-Croissy-Beaubourg. 23 Sept 2013.

I was supposed to do some pick-up shots in Austin yesterday. One thing led to 10 and it just didn’t work out. So I thought that I’d film my dogs. Always unwilling. Never good with dialogue. Can’t hit a mark. Trying to follow them without Steadicam is pure madness. As is follow focus. If you can pull focus on these two; there’s a damned good chance that it’s translatable. Somewhere. Somehow.

This song kills. It’s called Far. Not sure about all of the personnel — I do know that Nicolas Moreaux is handling bass and Bill McHenry is on tenor sax. It’s called ‘Fall Somewhere‘. Go out and buy it. Go out and buy two dogs. Don’t sleep — you won’t be sorry.

On second thought — you might want to think about the dogs advice.

This was shot with a Zeiss CP.2 50mm Super Speed. They can be contrasty as well — so I brought it down with a Tiffen 4×6.50 .3 ND filter. Not sure if it was a strong play. Anyway…

Sleep tight.
