In undergrad school, Laurie had a Jeep Wagoneer. It was the era of CB radios. The iPod of yesteryear. Not a great analogy — but anyway… Laurie didn’t have a CB radio. She had these cards, like big cue cards, that had expressions written on them. They were on rings so you could shuffle through the available sayings and then a hand grip so that you could hold it up and show it to a passing motorist. I think she called it a poor man’s CB. I’d never seen anything like that and asked what’s written on them? The first one she flipped over was ‘YOU IDIOT!’ I started howling. She didn’t need to turn over anymore. I could just see Laurie passing some idiot in her Jeep and then raising up ‘You Idiot!’
She always made me laugh.
