I was watching the Macy Gray clip again (below) and really dig her essence and (stance). The band’s incredibly tight and funky. And the BG vox just rock on and on. Very cool vibe. Nice show.
The guy playing rhythm guitar looks like Jean Michel Basquiat and Macy’s coat looks like it was commandeered from Joseph Beuys. Big stylistic pluses in my book.
I did wonder… She’s got, at least, a 10 piece band backing her. I wonder what she’d sound like if she could only have 5 accompanying musicians?
I’m betting she’d pull it off. Fractional reduction.
